During early stages of recovery and treatment, it can be difficult or impossible for clients to hold a fulltime job, and that can mean lean Christmases and birthdays for their children. WSTC tries to do a toy drive each year to make their holidays brighter, and this year, even though we got started a bit late, gifts and donations came in from all over Washington – and even from other parts of the country!
In total, 53 children will receive gifts from WSTC this Saturday.
Because we had very few preschoolers signed up, we ended up with a few leftovers in that age group, and we are using those to start a Birthday Closet. Once we have some gifts that are suitable for a broader age range, we’ll start making that option available to clients with minor children.
To donate:
- 1. Bring a new unwrapped toy to the front desk at any of our three locations
- 2. Order a gift online and ship it to: Birthday Closet c/o West Sound Treatment Center, 4060 Wheaton Way Ste F, Bremerton, WA 98310
- 3. Go to our Donations page to make an online donation and choose “Birthday Closet” from the dropdown options.
Thank you for your support of people in recovery!
